While I have been a steadfast Letterman fan for years, I respect what Leno has been doing recently. According to the Associated Press, he visited an Ohio town which has been severely impacted by the economic downturn. He offered a free comedy show in an effort to give laid off workers some emotional relief.

Arguably the hardest aspect of dealing with a layoff is the emotional stress and fatigue it can deal. All of a sudden new concerns materialize as you find yourself with 40 hours free per week and a drastically reduced income.
