Unemployment is a serious subject. Yet there is a new word that is appearing in the community vernacular: funemployed. According to Urban Dictionary, funemployed means “the state of being without a job, yet having lots of time to enjoy fun activities during otherwise normal working hours.”

This is mainly an attitude singles in their 20s and 30s with no obligations are taking in respect to their unemployment. Many are going to the beach, going on vacation, taking up hobbies, volunteering, and just enjoying life. While many of us cannot afford that luxury do to limited savings and other obligations, it can be refreshing to take a day or weekend and just relax. Forget about the anxiety and worry about finding that next job. Just relax.
Perhaps everyone who is unemployed should spend at least one day being funemployed.
